Section 24
Penalty
: (1) The department may impose a fine of fifty thousand rupees to one lakh rupees on the licensee who transfers or changes the ownership or liability of the company without taking approval under section 10.
(2) The department may impose a fine of up to one lakh rupees on the licensee who does not comply with the conditions under section 12.
(3) The department may impose a fine of up to five lakh rupees on the licensee and the direct seller or distributor of goods who do any act contrary to this Act or the rules made under this Act or do not comply with the orders or instructions given by the department.
(4) If a licensee fails to submit the report required to be submitted within the period prescribed under Section 45, except for reasons of negligence, or fails to provide the information required under Section 49, the department may fine such licensee at the rate of one hundred rupees per day and up to a maximum of ten thousand rupees.
(5) If the instructions or orders given in accordance with clauses (b) and (c) of section 31 are not followed, the monitoring committee may fine up to one lakh rupees to the licensee and the direct seller or distributor of such goods.
(6) If it is found that the price, quality and quantity of the goods have been changed or the price list has not been maintained during the inspection at the place of direct sale or distribution of goods, the inspection officer may impose a fine of Rs. If such act is repeated again and again, the fine can be doubled.
